As the main highlight of the 2020 lineup, Fresno State Music Department faculty, students and alumni will combine forces for two performances of Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana” in the Fresno State Concert Hall.

Experience the dramatic and exhilarating power of "Carmina Burana," a cantata that remains one of the most popular pieces in the classical music repertoire. This spectacular performance, featuring a full orchestra, chorus, and soloists, brings to life the vibrant and rhythmic compositions of Carl Orff. Based on medieval poems, "Carmina Burana" explores themes of fate, fortune, and the joys and trials of life. The piece is renowned for its dynamic energy, memorable melodies, and the famous opening and closing movement, "O Fortuna," known for its dramatic and powerful chorus. This concert promises to be a thrilling and unforgettable experience, captivating audiences with its raw emotional intensity and majestic sound.
